Our story
A continent and a few islands, all under one roof.
Le Continent began with a simple frustration: there was no single place in our neighborhood to find a ripe plantain on Saturday morning, a bag of egusi on Sunday afternoon and a bottle of scotch bonnet sauce for Monday's dinner.
So we built one. From our shop in downtown Calgary, we stock the staples of Nigerian, Ghanaian, Senegalese, Cameroonian, Jamaican, Trinidadian and Haitian kitchens — the brands you grew up with and the fresh produce that travels well from across the diaspora.
We're proud to serve Calgary's African and Caribbean communities — and the curious cooks who want to learn what jollof, jerk and joloff really taste like.
Fresh, weekly
New produce arrivals every week — plantains, yams, scotch bonnets, okra and cassava.
Pantry depth
From garri to suya spice, we stock the staples that supermarkets miss.
